DESPITE making it 22 games unbeaten, Peter Beadle is demanding more from his high-flying Hereford FC during the festive period.

After eventually running out 4-1 winners over Yate Town last weekend, the Hereford manager wants improved performances over the coming weeks.

“I demand standards and I demand better from my team,” said Beadle.

“I’ll never let up on demanding more from everybody.

“We’ve played all of the top teams and I know, coming into
those games, I have no concerns because the players know how important they are.

“When we play the smaller teams, we have a relaxed attitude. It should be 4-0 not 4-1.

“It’s not easy to constantly get on at the players when they’re unbeaten in 22 games with 19 wins, which is a hell of a run.

“Winning becomes a great habit and we’ve continued our momentum and had some up-and-down performances.”

Despite sitting 10 points clear at the top of the Southern League Division 1 South and West, the Bulls will be on a tight rein this festive period ahead of a sell-out game against Bishops Cleeve on Tuesday.

Beadle has warned his players to look after themselves.

He added: “There are a lot of players who need some game-time and minutes so what better way to
train than have a game.

“The the lads have a few days to recover for the game on December 27 and in for training on December 31, so there is no rest period for us now.

“Sometimes this is when things are won and lost.

“I know we have a game on January 2, and players might think they can get away with a few beers to see the New Year in but I won’t have that.

“If people are off the pace, I will know exactly why.
“I thought last year we handled the Christmas period fantastically with the games – to take nine points from three games was quite pivotal for us.

“It’s important that the players do the same this year and I know, with the players we have, that nobody in the group gets away with anything.”
