HEREFORD FC defender Ryan Green believes Wales will beat Portugal 1-0 in their titanic Euro 2016 semi-final tonight.

The Welshman says the atmosphere in his home country has been electric, with many cars driving with Welsh flags hanging out.

"It will be a fantastic game and I think we will do it," said Green.

"Everyone thinks it will be between [Gareth] Bale and [Cristiano] Ronaldo, but [Joe] Allen versus [Renato] Sanchez will be a very good battle.

"Both teams will go for the win and hopefully Wales too do it and carry on flying the flag for the Home Nations.

"It's been incredible, everyone has driving around with a Welsh flag.

"No one expected us to do this well, but we have proved we can compete with the best.

"We beat Belgium and destroyed Russia.

"The togetherness and passion shown by the players has been brilliant."

Wales will be without Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies through suspension, but Green is not worried.

"For Ramsey, either Jonny Williams, who has done well when coming on, or Andy King of Leicester will come in, which I have no  problem with.

"Then in defence, either [James] Collins will come in or he may  shuffle [Chris] Gunter over."

Green added that the English players at Hereford have been quiet after the Three Lions were knocked out.

"They haven't said much, but I hope they support Wales," said Green.

"We have proved you don't have to have big names to win, like Leicester proved [by winning the Premier League].

"[Manager] Chris Coleman has done a great job because it was a tough task taking on the job from Gary Speed.

"I just hope we do it tonight."
