PEGASUS showed their bouncebackability qualities in a mixed Bank Holiday weekend in the Premier Division of the West Midlands (Regional) League.

They were beaten 3-0 at Wolverhampton Casuals on Saturday, but put that defeat behind them to secure a 4-2 victory at Cradley Town on Monday afternoon.

Pegasus, who hope to announce a new manager in place of the departing Chris Hyde in the near future, started well at Wolverhampton but fell behind to a controversial penalty on 29 minutes.

They were close to equalising on 40 minutes when Anthony Robbins sprayed the ball to Ashley Lear, but with only home keeper Liam Stanton to beat he shot narrowly wide.

Pegasus went on the offensive at the start of the second half with Stanton denying Lear with a full-length save.

Robbins then looped a header over, Ryan Davies saw a lob tipped over and Lear was denied by the keeper’s legs.

But on 58 minutes Dan Westwood scored a second Casuals goal, and with 11 minutes left the same player crashed home a tremendous volley to finish Pegasus off.

On Monday headers from Rory Worthing on four minutes and Jack Lewis on 29 had Peggy in charge, and though Premier Division cup finalists Cradley pulled a goal back, the city side added a third before the break when Kiea Cowley lobbed home from the edge of the box.

Cowley beat the home keeper at his near post for goal number four in the 77th minute before Cradley scrambled in a late consolation.

Last night (Wednesday) Pegasus were in action at Willenhall Town in their final fixture.
