TUPSLEY won Division Three of the Hereford Times Herefordshire Football League this afternoon following a 2-1 win at Leominster Town Reserves.

The Hereford side only needed a draw to win the title and deservedly ran out winners.

Tupsley had a great chance to ease their nerves in the ninth minute when they were awarded a penalty after Shaun Tyler was tripped in the box.

But captain Shaun Glover dragged the spot-kick wide.

However, Tupsley did take the lead in the 33rd minute after Adam Pritchett flicked the ball through the legs of Leominster goalkeeper Keaton Mclay's legs after his initial effort was saved.

Belmont Wanderers, who would have won the title if they beat Malvern Vale and Tupsley lost, had no trouble getting into the groove and were 7-1 to the good by half-time.

But any chance they had of claiming the prize soon went when Tupsley increased their lead in the 56th minute thanks to Pritchett grabbing his second goal of the game.

Leominster did make a game of it 12 minutes from time when substitute Ben Ramos scored from the penalty spot, but Tupsley held on for the win.

Belmont Wanderers, meanwhile, beat Malvern Vale 12-2 to join Tupsley in Division Two next season.
