A NEW stand is being planned at Bartestree in an attempt to attract more supporters from the village.

Manager Chris Hayes said the club is in talks with Herefordshire Council's planning department and hopes the project can get the go ahead next year.

"We will have a stand facility and make it a better place for people to come and watch us play football," said Hayes.

"We are Bartestree Football Club and we want more people to come from the village and watch and enjoy days like this.

"It wasn't pretty, but it was a great game of football for both the neutral and the people of Bartestree."

Hayes said the expansion plans will hopefully help the club get out of West Midlands League Division One.

"Our ambition is not to stay in this league," he said.

"Last year we came third and should have gone up last season.

"But this season we want to finish top half and and next season when pre-season starts, we will be aiming to put a group of players together to push on and get us out of the league and compete with your likes of Pegasus and Westfields."
