EASTNOR found Worcestershire County League Division One leaders Worcester too hot to handle as they fell to a six-wicket defeat.

Only opener Anees Tariq (36) and Joseph Madyembwa (62) posted any notable runs as the Herefordshire side were bowled out for 180.

Raynaldo Estwick was first to go when he was trapped LBW before Ian Milton also went cheaply.

And when star batsman Waqas Ahmed went for eight, Eastnor knew they were in trouble.

Madyembwa did steady the ship and he went on to make 12 fours in his fine innings.

But too many of his teammates went cheaply and 180 was always going to be a target that Worcester would find achievable.

And they got their with just under seven overs remaining; opener Henry Lewis finishing unbeaten on 66.

Eastnor's star bowler was Ahmed, who took two wickets.

Burghill, Tillington & Weobley also lost; going down to a seven-wicket defeat to Cookley.

Captain Ben Owens hit a fine century, but other than that, too many wickets went cheaply and Burghill could only make 184-7 off their 50 overs.

An unbeaten 97 from Jaimen Rudd helped Cookley achieve the win, with Jonathan Stanaway also unbeaten on 34.

In Division Two, Bromyard lost to Bredon, while Wormelow had a losing draw at Chaddesley Corbett.

Bredon posted a competitive 263-8, with Clive Fenney (58), Richard Bruce (47) and Martyn Draper (43) all scoring well, with Greg Leighton, Kieran Fowler and George Bouston sharing the wickets for Bromyard.

Leighton also scored a half century when he batted, while Bouston, batting at 10, ended on 31 off 43 balls.

But it was not enough as Bromyard were bowled out for 152.

Wormelow are still without a win this season, but three draws sees them in mid-table.

Against Chaddesley Corbett, Elliott Williams took four wickets, while Jasper Linley-Adams hit a decent half century off 61 balls.

Wins haven't been a problem for Bartestree & Lugwardine though.

The county side are handily placed in second place in Division Three, with their latest win coming against Himley.

Ryan Trattell took 4-24 as Himley were bowled out for 150, while Dan Harris also helped himself to three wickets.

Bartestree then eased to their total when they they batted, with opener Ben Simpkin finishing unbeaten on 72 off just 64 balls.

However, a tough test is in store this Saturday when Bartestree host third-placed Himbleton.
