BROCKHAMPTON and Herefordshire Seconds player Joe Crichard has signed a deal to play for Brown Hill Cricket Club in Australia.

The middle-order batsmen will head Down Under to play for The Victoria-based side from the end of September.

The move came about due to the Birmingham & District Premier Division agreeing to send Brown Hill an under-23 player for the forthcoming campaign.

"It's a really good opportunity to play in good conditions and be with new people," said Crichard.

"They have been involved in two of the last three grand finals, so they're quite a good side."

Crichard has been fine form of late and hit a sparkling 71 not out as Brockhampton beat Sutton Coldfield by seven wickets to cement their place at the top of Division One of the Birmingham League.

Crichard put on an excellent fourth-wicket partnership with overseas star Senuran Muthsamy to ensure Brockhampton won with over 15 overs left.

Muthsuamy also snapped up four wickets.

"We've got a really good team unity at the moment and success breeds success," said Crichard.

"We've got different people chipping in, so we're not really on the same people to do it for us."

In Division Three, Eastnor gained what could prove to be a crucial winning draw against Worfield.

Anees Tariq top scored with 75 and Atiq Ur Rehman took 3-75 as Eastnor look to climb out of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Crichard finished unbeaten on 37 as Herefordshire Seconds comfortably beat Oxfordshire by eight wickets in a friendly match at Ross-on-Wye.

Ryan Tongue also hit an excellent 116 off just 125 balls, which included 11 fours and five sixes.

Crichard believes the Seconds have a number of players who can step up to the Firsts.

"I've played for them a few times and would like to think that I can be up there again, Benny Ellis has played for the firsts before, so it would be good if we could get some other boys up there, like Ryan Tongue."
