A FORMER Lancashire County Cricket Club player will be Herefordshire Cricket Society's special guest this Thursday.
Mark Chilton scored nearly 10,000 first class runs over a 14-year spell and helped Lancashire gain promotion to the Division One of the County Championship in his first year as captain. The 39-year-old was also skipper for Lancashire when they were narrowly pipped to the title in 2007 and was awarded a benefit season in 2011.
That year, Lancashire won the County Championship for the first time since they shared the title in 1934.
The talk will be at Hereford Rowing Club at 7.30pm.
For more details, call Herefordshire Cricket Society secretary Ken Sharpe on 01432 359990.
