BROCKHAMPTON remain at the wrong end of the Birmingham and District Premier League following a narrow defeat at Barnt Green.

The home side's captain, Ed Pollock, was the lynchpin of the home side's line-up, clubbing four sixes and 12 fours on his way to 130.

He shared a sixth wicket stand of 120 with Tom Brown which helped Barnt Green post a challenging total of 280-9 off their 55 overs.

Adam Hewlett bowled well to finish with figures of 4-49, while Nicholas Powell chipped in with three wickets.

In reply, Danny Irvine and Henry Langford got Brockhampton off to an excellent start, sharing 75 for the first wicket before the latter was dismissed for 32.

Irvine was the next to follow for 69, signalling a regular loss of wickets as the Herefordshire side went from 118-1 to 176-6.

Late resistance from Chris Powell (43) and Adam Hewlett (27) gave them hope before Brockhampton just fell short, losing by 17 runs.

In Division Two it was another defeat for Eastnor who came back from third-placed Penkridge with a three-wicket loss.

Having been put in, Eastnor lost both openers cheaply before Faisal Khalid steadied the ship with a swift 55. But despite decent support by Jack Myers (34) and Joseph Madyembwa (24) the county side lost wickets cheaply, including Tareq Jamil and Jabran Khalid for ducks, as they were dismissed for 165.

Sajid Ali claimed the wickets of both Penkridge openers, but that only brought Rana Hussan to the crease who hit a six and nine fours in his 60-ball 61.

But despite taking regular wickets, Eastnor couldn't claw back momentum and Penkridge ran out winners.
