A NUMBER of athletes from the county took part in the New Balance English School's Cross County Championships in Nottinghamshire.
Sam Roberts, from Lady Hawkins High School in Kington, was first in the Hereford and Worcester team in the Junior Under-15 Boys category and was the only athlete from the side to get into the top 200.
Along with his team mates, Hereford and Worcester were placed 41st out of 44 teams.
Elsewhere, Lucy Webb, from Hereford Cathedral School, was 114th in the junior girls team, while Dan Bufton was 238th in the boys'.
In the intermediate girls team, Briony Bishop (John Kyrle High School) was 301st and Owen Cowden and Toby Austin (both Hereford Cathedral School) finished 250th and and 178th respectively in the senior boys team category.
