A HEREFORDSHIRE woman finished second in the women's category of the Shropshire Mud Run Series.
Steph Main, from Lyonshall, competed in five cross-country obstacle racing, with each course having their own individual challenges.
Each race is about 10km in distance and incorporate a number of obstacles, including mud, points and bogs.
The events have also featured an equestrian cross-country jump course, a motocross track, caves and even a belly-flopping pontoon into a lake.
"I have played hockey for Kington Ladies for the last two seasons and compete in X-country races for Croft Ambrey Running Club," said Main, who grew up in Dilwyn and went to Weobley High School.
"I fancied doing something different and obstacle course racing in a competitive league fitted the bill as your pace is being continually interrupted by obstacles which suits my style of running. "
"I have limited training time as have three very sporty children but working hard on increasing my core and upper body strength and training whenever I can with the Hereford Ghost Runner squad has helped immensely with my success in this event."
