WESTFIELDS have continued their lucrative progress in the FA Cup with a superb first-qualifying –round success.

The city side travelled to Stoke-on-Trent based Norton United and returned with an excellent 5-2 success over the North West Counties Football League Premier Division side.

But there was disappointment in the West Midlands League Premier Division for Pegasus Juniors who went down by a single goal at Wednesfield.

But it was a good day for Wellington who enjoyed a 2-1 home win over Bustleholme to move up into the top half of the table.

It’s hard work, though, for Bromyard Town who have slipped back to the foot of the table after a 3-1 reverse at Sporting Khalsa.

Luctonians maintained their perfect start in National 2 North with a 31-7 success against Bromsgrove. But Hereford’s early charge was pegged back in a 31-11 home reverse against Worcester Wanderers.

And Ledbury were brought swiftly to earth on their first game after promotion to Midlands Three West (South) after a 45-6 reverse at Southam.

It was a similar story for Bromyard, whose Midlands Four West (North) bow ended with a 55-0 hammering at Uttoxeter.

And Ross ’ hopes of a good start to their Gloucester 2 campaign were dashed in a 26-17 home reverse by Bream. In the Birmingham and District Premier League, Premier Division Brockhampton were left to hold on for a losing draw against Brockhampton with just one wicket in hand.

But Eastnor ’s win over Attock in Division 2 secures their status for another season.
