A GOOD field of 24 riders took part in Hereford Wheelers’ Weobley Sporting 19 mile event, the 2012 season opener.
Overall winner, Wheeler Luke Williams recorded an excellent 50min12secs – averaging 22.71mph for the challenging 19-mile circuit from Stretton Sugwas to Weobley and back.
The women’s race was a clean sweep for the Wheelers with Sarah Lloyd Stephens winning in a time of 58min09sec from second place Emma Hadley in 64min46sec and in third place Alison Fryer Jones in 66min42sec.
