THE togetherness we showed as a club at Swindon Town should give us a big boost going into this weekend’s match against Bradford, which starts a run of important games.

We had two comebacks at Swindon – when we were 2- 0 down and then 3-2 down - and we showed some fighting spirit to get a point.

The support from our fans was fantastic – it emphasises the fans’ importance to the players and the club.

I thought the substitutions and the impact they made were a catalyst for our comeback - that’s not taking anything away from the players who had started the game because they worked hard.

If we can re-produce that sort of performance and spirit and, if people get behind us, I am sure we will get a good crowd this weekend and a positive result.

Harry Pell came up trumps to head home the equaliser in the 89th minute.

We give him a bit of stick about winning headers - he’s 6ft 5 and he doesn’t win too many headers.

Harry’s a young player who has got to keep learning. He was energetic when he came on and he did very well.

It’s no secret that we wanted to sign Steven Leslie from Shrewsbury in the closed-season but it didn’t materialise.

He was someone we kept a close eye on because he produced such good performances for us last year.

He joined us on loan last week and he gives us a bit of balance in the team.

We now have seven loanplayers and we can only have five in our squad so that poses a problem.

We can’t keep bringing in loan players – we need to get through this period with some good results to make sure we are in contention come January.

We have been working very hard on the training ground and the players have responded to a new workrate and a new passion.

It’s fantastic that Gary Peters has come in – he’s got a wealth of experience and I am delighted to have him at Hereford.

Gary’s showed a great commitment in that he will be educating me as much as everyone else.

The management structure and the squad are in place and we will keep working together.

Last Thursday, the fans’ forum was always going to be difficult. Gary handled it well and I thought I handled it how I needed to.

I knew that I would come in for some criticism. And I will take that criticism on board and learn from it.

It was an important occasion for everyone who needed to get things off their chest. We now have to move on and try to get the club into mid-table.

I have got to thank the chairman and the board for sticking by us and sticking by me - it shows a great commitment from them.

The board understands the internal problems which we inherited from the previous management regime. We are trying to turn it around and we’ve got to get through this year.

If the board, the fans, the players and me all stick together, we will get out of trouble.
