SCOTT Partridge is more used to the heat of Monaco than the rigours of the Wyedean Forest Rally.

Scott is head chef on a super yacht out of Monaco for six months of the year.

But cooking for the rich and famous will be the last thing on the mind of the Hereford-born driver when he gets behind the wheel next weekend.

Scott has teamed up with exworks’ co-driver Chris Ridge for what he hopes will be a recipe for success on Saturday, February 12.

Partridge’s Subaru Impreza group N rally was car built by Prodrive in 2003 and driven by Alister McRae in several rounds of the World Rally Championships in 2004.

Scott’s grandfather Vincent Partridge, who died in October, ran Tupsley Service Station for many years and later worked for Steels Honda dealers in Hereford.

The 36th Wyedean Forest Rally is being sponsored by GMF Motor factors and organised by the Forest of Dean Motor Club Ltd.

And Scott’s dad, Russell Partridge, has thanked people who have made their challenge possible.

“Allensmore’s Quick Motorsport, the Phil Price Rally School and Phil Kiernan from the Farmers Boy Inn Longhope have been fantastic,” he said.

Chepstow Racecourse will host the start and finish while most of the competitive action takes place on tracks within the Forest of Dean.
