JEREMY Spencer marked his maiden appearance of the season with a first-half hat-trick in Holme Lacy’s superb 4-0 win at Wellington Rangers in the HFA Charity Bowl.

Spencer was praised by Lacy’s manager Ben Hince after his side had wrapped up the first-round victory before the interval.

Spencer profited from fine work from Martin Powell and Dan Read and then completed his treble after firing home from the edge of the box.

Luke Winter scored Lacy’s other goal, squeezing in a shot at the near post, while goalkeeper Sam Scotford made a wonder save when the visitors led 2-0.

Westfields roared into the second round after a comfortable 5-2 away win at Ledbury Town.

Skipper Mark Hibbard (2), former Aston Villa youngster Dan MacDonald, Anthony Robbins and Ashley Day were on target for the allpay.park outfit.
