Hereford United have bolstered their squad with two transfer-deadline day signings.

Cameroonian striker Amadou Rabihou and left-sided utility player Dominik Werling have both arrived at Edgar Street.

Rabihou, 25, has signed on until December 31 after training with the club for the last 10 days and playing in a reserveteam friendly at Coventry.

He spent five years with Austrian side Sturm Graz and has also played in Italy, Slovakia and France.

“He will give us a bit more fire-power in the squad,” said Bulls boss Simon Davey.

Werling, who is 27, is well known to the United chief.

“I brought Werling in from Turkey when I was manager of Barnsley and then signed him for Darlington.

“He can play in all the left-sided positions - left-back, left wing-back or left-wing - and he did that for me at Championship level at Barnsley.

“He was a last-minute arrival after we heard that he had bought out his contract at Darlington and so was a free agent.”

Davey was yesterday (Wednesday) waiting for all the paperwork for the signings to be completed before deciding whether the pair would be part of the squad to travel to Burton Albion on Saturday.

One player likely to be missing, however, is substitute goalkeeper Dan Connor who was hospitalised earlier in the week with a groin problem.

“We are waiting on the results of an MRI scan,” said Davey.

Either goalkeeping coach Russell Hoult or club sports scientist Tom Whittaker will provide cover for first-choice Adam Bartlett at Burton.

Hereford will meet an old favourite at Burton with former skipper Tony James likely to be in the Brewers squad. James netted a dramatic injury-time winner for Burton at Edgar Street last season as Albion completed a double over the Bulls.

Picture: Stuart Fleetwood, who may come under pressure for his place following the deadline day signing of Amadou Rabihou, vents his fury after being denied a penalty against Rotherham United at Edgar Street on Saturday. Fleetwood, like most of the crowd, was sure that he had been brought down inside the area but referee Steve Rushton, who booked five Bulls players, gave the free-kick outside.
