PEGASUS Juniors manager Steve Griffiths will be leaving his post after Saturday’s home match against Wokingham & Emmbrook.

Youth team coach Leigh Harris will be Pegasus’ caretaker boss until Griffiths’ replacement has been secured. Griffiths guided Pegasus to their best run in the FA Cup last season which ended with a 4-1 defeat at AFC Telford United in the second qualifying round.

Griffiths’ side beat two clubs from higher divisions in their historic cup run before losing at the New Bucks Head in front of 1,136 fans.

But the Hereford club have made a poor start to the new campaign and are second-bottom of the Hellenic League Premier Division.

A Pegasus club statement, issued on Tuesday night, said: “After an extraordinary meeting of the board of directors of Pegasus Juniors, it has been agreed by mutual consent with Steve Griffiths, to commence the process of recruiting a new first-team manager.”

The statement added: “The board wish to thank Steve for many years of dedicated service in the role and the team has done exceptionally well during his tenure.”

Applicants for the first-team manager’s role at Pegasus Juniors should contact director of football Mark Williams on 07815 144660.
