BURGHILL Valley golfer Cliff Evans won the Rolex Tour 14th Annual Golf Competition for the sixth time when the tour party spent six superb days on the Costa Del Sol.

The competition, played in Stableford format, saw Evans beat Herefordshire Golf Club member Mark Williams by one point after the points were tallied up over the four-match tour.

Williams opened the tour with a win at Lauro Golf with 37 points, with Noel Downes from Burghill Valley in second place.

At Santana Golf Club, Williams again took first place with 39 points and Des Shaw (Burghill Valley) finished second.

On the third day at El Chaparral Golf Club, Burghill Valley member Andy Morris won with 35 points and Evans was second on 33 points.

The final day at La Cala saw Noel Downes win the day with 29 points and Burghill Valley member Alan Dunsford was second with 25 points.

Evans took the trophy by one point from Williams to complete an excellent tour, once again played in glorious sunshine on four top courses on the Costa Del Sol.
