HEREFORDSHIRE visited Weobley and District BC for the first county match on their new green and hosted Wiltshire who lost on only one rink in a 139-109 victory.

The only home rink to win was skipped by Paul Rainthorpe, with John Bevan having an excellent game at third and Graham Pritchard and Terry Knight in fine form at the front-end.

They led 16-11 after 14 ends and comfortably contained the visitors before finishing with a 28-16 win.

Ron Perry's rink had a very close match and were down 16-13 after 17 ends and, after scoring a seven on the 18th end to lead 20-16 before losing four shots in the last three ends, they finished level at 20- 20.

The rink skipped by Brian Cade led 18- 14 after 18 ends but lost five shots on the last three ends to go down 19-18.

Dave Holloway's rink were down 20-12 after 17 ends before winning the last four ends, picking up six shots to finish 20-18 down.

Mansell Havard's rink started badly and were down 18-3 after 12 ends. But although they held their own in the remaining ends, they could not reduce the deficit and finally lost 31-15.

The highest losing rink was skipped by Norman Douse who were down 17-10 after 15 ends but lost the remaining six ends, conceding 16 shots to finish 33-10 down.
