JUSTIN Hall made his mark at allpay.park netting a hat-trick as Westfields ran out 3-2 winners against promotion hopefuls Roman Glass St George.

Hall, who has recently joined Fields from Malvern, opened the scoring on 15 minutes sweeping the ball home after a four-player move.

The striker then seized on a 26th minute mistake in the visitors’ defence before scoring from an acute angle.

The visitors responded and Fields goalkeeper Zeke Vivian tipped an effort over the bar but from the resultant corner Jack Spark fired a low shot into the bottom corner to make it 2-1 at the break.

Roman Glass found a 64th minute equaliser when Charlie Saunders hit a shot which clipped the underside of the bar and went into the far corner of the net.

However, Fields weren’t to be denied and in the 78th minute substitute Luke Firkin broke through and hit a hard shot which the visitors’ keeper parried to Hall who raced in to slam the ball home.

“Justin has come in from Malvern and I have to thank Malvern because when I was desperate for players at the start of the reign they gave me four players in return for Matt McDonald,” said Fields boss Scott Russell.

“All the lads have been brilliant and Justin has really bought into how we want to play at Westfields. Saturday just shows the player we have on our hands.

“Fair play to the players as they’ve really bought into what we want to do so I’m delighted.

Westfields are home again this Saturday when third place Royal Wootton Bassett Town visit.

“We’ve got to be realistic for our target, the main thing is to be competitive and be involved in games,” added Russell.

“We’ve got a tough month ahead against some top teams. For me it’s grind out the results for now, win home games if we can and pick up what we can away from home.”
