A BATTLING Westfields performance saw them fall to a single goal defeat to Welsh Premier Division side Cardiff Met.

The Students were given a scare when Teddy Mee struck Fields into a second half lead, only for the visitors to strike twice and take a 2-1 victory.
Westfields opened the scoring when Mee met an Adam Wakley cross in the Herefordshire FA Invitation Trophy final.

However the lead was short-lived and the Welsh visitors hit back to equalise within two minutes.
In an end to end final 15 minutes Cardiff snatched the winner with a fine right wing movement which resulted in a cracking drive from the edge of the box.

The goal was enough to earn Cardiff Met a 2-1 victory and the trophy which was presented to them by HFA chairman Steve Willmot.

Fields were back in action on Saturday when they suffered their third consecutive home pre-season defeat, when they were beaten 4-3 by visiting Boldmere St Michaels.
Westfields new striker Ollie Barnes put the hosts ahead in the opening minutes only for the visitors to respond and race into a 4-1 interval lead.
After the interval Barnes pulled anther goal back then Harry Summers grabbed a thitf Westfields goal to make it 4-3 to the visitors.

Despite a much improved second half display the hosts could not produce a deserved equaliser as Boldmere held on for the pre-season victory.
Fields play their last pre-season friendly tonight (Thursday) when Stourport Swifts visit allpay.park kick off 7-45pm.

Elsewhere, Hereford Pegasus suffered a 5-2 home pre-season friendly defeat at home against Droitwich Spa going five goals behind before Cawley Cox and Ollie Desborough both scored in response.

Hereford Lads Club were at home to Tividale with the visitors taking the lead after a goal-less first half.

Adam Hockey equalised for the hosts before Tividale pulled clear scoring two goals to win 3-1.
