WESTFIELDS produced a professional away performance as they ran out 3-0 winners at basement side Bradford Town on Easter Monday.

Despite their league position Bradford put up a stubborn defence for the opening 40 minutes as both Dan Stoneman and Kyle Cassell had efforts cleared.

However, just before the interval Dan Stoneman played Steve Davies into a good position and his fierce drive was turned into his own net by Bradford defender Jordan Pincher to give Westfields a 1-0 half-time lead .

Westfields doubled their lead on the hour mark when Adam Newbury got free just outside the box and let fly with a great drive into the roof of the net.

Phil Glover’s side moved the ball around well and Sean Powell caught the eye down the left flank for the visitors.

On the 70th minute Westfields secured the win with a third goal after Adam Wakely got in behind the Bradford defence to score a fine solo goal.
Bradford twice had chances to get back into the game but skipper Sam Rawlings was in commanding form alongside Joe Davies as Westfields went on to record a comfortable victory on their last away trip of the season.

This Saturday Westfields bring the curtain down on their league campaign when promotion hopefuls Corsham Town visit Allpay.park, kick-off 3pm .

Westfields will hold a minute of silence before the game in memory of former joint-manager Clive Harris who along with Sean Edwards guided Westfields to the West Midland Premier Division Championship in 2002/3. Sadly Clive passed away last week at his home in Bromyard.

Elsewhere, in the Hellenic Premier a Jamie Price goal earnt Hereford Pegasus a 1-1 draw on the road at Corsham Town.

Price opened the scoring for Peggy on the 23rd minute only for Kane Simpson to level for Corsham two minutes before the break. As time ran out on the clock Price was given a red card as Pegasus finished with 10 men.

Pegasus are on the road again this weekend when they visit Chipping Sodbury Town.

Hereford Lads Club were on home on Good Friday when they suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Fairford Town.
