- With their first opening of the season Westfields took a fifth minute lead when Sam Archer-Plane headed a cross into the back of his own net from underneath the bar.
- After surviving an early onslaught Lads Club responded and Adam Hockey found space and crossed for Olly Price who saw his header saved.
- Lads Club who level on 14th minutes when Fields' goalkeeper Steve Sarkodie saved a hopeful shot but dropped the ball at the feet of Tom Bendall to smash home the equaliser.
- Hockey gave Lads Club a 36th minute lead beating the off-side trap before sliding the ball past the goalkeeper.
- Three minutes before the break Westfields almost had a way back into the tie when Ben Miller looked to have escaped the last man and fired low but wide.
- Just three minutes after the break Lads Club increased their lead when Adam Hockey's cross came of goalkeeper Sarkodie and into the net.
- Westfields were looking for a way back into the tie and King Baidoo had an effort from outside the box which the goalkeeper can only watch as it flashed wide.
- Baidoo looked certain to have scored with 19 minutes remaining only to be denied by Steven Bell.
- Bell would come to Lads Club's saviour again stopping substitute Richard Greaves' penalty which was controversially awarded.
- However, Baidoo did pull a goal back with seven minutes remaining turning inside the box before firing home.
- Any Westfields comeback was ended in the second minute of added time when Hockey's shot was palmed down by Sarkodie into the path of James Hancocks to make it 4-2.
