- A defensive mistake allowed Dave Reynolds through on goal after four minutes, but he saw his effort saved down low.
- Liam Lockett put the visitors ahead on eight minutes sliding home after his side worked the ball into the box.
- Nat Kelly saw his effort disallowed after heading home for Worcester inside the box but was judged to have fouled Kieran Blackburn in the Welly goal.
- Reynolds was denied again by Blackburn on the half-time whistle after being played through on goal his low effort was saved.
- Wellington's first effort came after 49 minutes when a counter-attack resulted in the ball being pulled back for Brandon Hackett to fire over.
- City doubled their lead on the hour when following a slick move around the penalty area Jamie Smith linked up with Reynolds who diverted the ball home.
- Worcester were out of sight with two goals in as many minutes mid-way into the second half.
- Firstly a wonder goal came from Sean Brain who brought a long ball down before lobbing the goalkeeper on 67 minutes.
- Moments later the visitors opened up the Welly defence again before Connor Mooney rounded the goalkeeper.
- However, Wellington did reply with 22 minutes left on the clock when Sam Pearson's ball into the box had the Worcester defence in trouble and Joe Davies took advantage sliding home.
- Paul Jones reduced the deficit further beating the defence before firing past the goalkeeper.
