VICKY Howells completed a hat-trick of Burghill Valley Ladies' Championship successes when she again won the title with a gross score of 175 over 36 holes.

While Howells continued her dominance in the championship, Sheila Glinos collected the Barnett Salver for the best nett score with 196-22-152.

Rebecca Lloyd pipped Howells by one shot to win the August LGU medal, combined with the Wyevale Crystal Bowl, with a nett 71.

This result helped Lloyd qualify for the Midland Golfer of the Year competition which is judged on the best aggregate of three out of four summer LGU medals. She has a splendid 210.

There have been some fine individual scoring in Hereford-shire GC Ladies' competitions.

Despite difficult conditions for the closed meeting medal, Sue Mawby shot the best gross score to win the Dorothy Johnson Salver with a remarkable 80.

And then Emma Harris produced a round of 79-6-73 to win the LGU August medal and her handicap was cut to five.

Sylvia Topley won the Away Day Plate when 35 ladies travelled to Llanfoist to play the Momouthshire GC course.

Chris Williams and Natalie Booth were the winners of a family cup competition involving juniors.

Gary Payne led his team of Alan Leake and Sharon Helps to a good victory in the Hereford Municipal yellow-ball competition, scoring 118 points without losing the double-scoring ball.

Despite losing the yellow ball on the 14th hole, Jenny Wildman, Terry Robinson and Mike Steele were second with 103 points and one point behind in third were Averil Magee, Colin Morgan and John Davis.

Ross-on-Wye Ladies played three competitions concurrently in good conditions.
