Pegasus Juniors 1 Forest Green Rovers 4 PEGASUS gave a tenacious performance when presented with the opportunity of an additional pre-season friendly against Conference team Forest Green.
The Gloucestershire visitors took the lead on four minutes when Stuart Fleetwood, one of two former Hereford United players on view - the other being Jamie Pitman - pulled the ball back for Adriano Rigoglioso to score with a low drive.
Pegasus equalised on 26 minutes when good work by Fergie Harrison and Cory Hyde played in Ben Price to score, only for Rigoglioso to restore the Forest Green lead four minutes later.
Fleetwood curled a free-kick into the top corner of the net to extend the lead on 49 minutes and then outpaced the tiring home defence three minutes from time to round off the scoring.
Both sides were pleased with the work-out which provided a much closer game than the Conference side might have expected.
In other matches, Cory Hyde scored the Pegasus goal in a 1-1 draw with Hardwicke while Simon Gwynne was on target in a 2-1 defeat by Ludlow Town.
