A NUMBER of junior football roadshows are to take place this season.

The Herefordshire Football Association have teamed up with Beyond Storage to run the programme that is aimed at increasing participation in both boys and girls junior football in the county.

Specific focus will be centred on supporting clubs that are low on numbers or lacking junior teams.

The HFA say that will assist by creating a link with local schools and providing engaging, inclusive and, most importantly, fun sessions.

The hope us that following each roadshow, there will be a group of youngsters who have enjoyed their first introductory experience of football and may be considering joining a football club.

The HFA will then support that club with funds from the roadshow, to underpin their offering of coaching, equipment and registration.

“We are extremely pleased to have Beyond Storage supporting this new initiative," said Jonathan Walker, football strategy manager at the HFA.

"It gives us the opportunity to enhance our offering to clubs within the county and ensure that the juniors will have a positive, fun and memorable experience of football.

"As a critical action, we are trying to address the drop off in certain junior age groups.

"We are also looking to help clubs create new sides at younger age groups to develop and grow clubs for the future."

The partnership will also provide the wider affiliated footballing community in Herefordshire with discount and referral codes for storage solutions.

James Hay, managing director of Beyond Storage, added: “The football roadshows are a great opportunity for Beyond Storage to support grass roots sport in Herefordshire.

"We are particularly pleased to help the HFA encouraging more juniors to be active and enable them to have a really positive experience within football.

"Our business has continued to grow in recent years and we are looking to build on this upward trend.

"The HFA reach all corners of the county, so the partnership will assist massively with our brand awareness moving forward."

The first roadshow will be held at Fownhope Recreation Ground on Monday, August 24 from 9am to 12pm, which is aimed at girls and boys of primary school years one, two and three.

The session costs £2.
