KINGTON Tennis Club are to run a six-week course to encourage children to take up the sport.
The sessions for children aged five to eight-years-old will start on Wednesday, May 10 and is part of the national 'Tennis for Kids' initiative.
The 20 children will receive certificates, stickers and a brand new tennis racket for free, with the courses delivered by Steve Hodges, a volunteer tennis coach who was put through his paces last month in on-court training sessions by Great Britain Davis Cup captain Leon Smith and Federations Cup Coach Naomi Cavaday.
“I’m really excited to be involved with Tennis for Kids for a second year and think it’s a great opportunity to get new young players into the sport," said Hodges.
"I’d urge parents to sign their children up as quickly as possible as spaces are limited.”
