HEREFORD are up to sixth place in Premier Division 2A of the West Clubs’ Women’s Hockey League following a 1-0 success over Jaspers.
The city side are now just one point off fourth spot and go to struggling Chippenham this Saturday.
Leominster had an off day, going down 5-1 to Stroud in North Division, while Colwall & Malvern and Hereford Seconds lost their respective games in Severn Division 1.
Presteigne continued their winning streak in the Marches League by thrashing Kington 6-1.
Jess Goodwin (2), Charlotte Jones, Lauren Morris, Flick Collings and Sioned Price scored Presteigne’s goals.
Hereford are now just six points off the top two places in De Cymru & The Marches 1 of the GoCre8 Hockey League going into this Saturday’s derby against Leominster.
Hereford beat Cheltenham Thirds 4-1, while Leominster, who are eighth, lost 3-2 at home to leaders Bristol & West.
Ross-on-Wye are in mid-table and enjoyed a 5-3 win at basement club Aberystwyth University last Saturday.
