LEOMINSTER Golf Club held a trophy presentation for all competition winners throughout the year.

Notable winners were Ryan Painter, who was club champion in the 36-hole scratch medal event and Simon Morgan, who won the President's Bowl and Order of Merit.

Elsewhere, Taylor Merrick also got his hands on the Ravenhill and Data Logic Cup, Craig Brimmell won the match-play knock-out, Chris Gadd claimed the match-play singles knock-out and Royal British Legion Cup and Will Gore won the Captain's Cup and Hopbine Trophy.

Morgan came top in the Presidents's Bowl competition prior to the presentation.

His score of 72-4-68 pipped Dewi Allen's after count-back was taken into consideration.

Jason Stacey came second with 70, while Jamie Blythe and Merrick both scored twos.

The Tune Trophy event was also played on the same event.

Jamie Mee won the competition with an excellent score of 67-7-60, which equals the best gross carded on the course.

Second place went to Alex Wilson, who pipped Jamie Griffiths following a countback, with Martin Pugh and Kirby Jones finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

There were eight twos scored and a hole-in-one by Paul Hitching on the 17th.

Griffiths also came top in a recent Wednesday Front 9-Hole Roll-Up competition.

He beat Owen Dolloway and Jackson Merrick to finish top of Division One.

The Division Two honours went to Chris Bell, with Martin Pugh and Terry Morgan finishing second and third respectively, while Rhys Dolloway, Gary Stinton and Terry Morgan finished in the top three positions in Division Three.

Elsewhere, Kevin Tandler and Kevin Green won the Richard Jordan Cup and Ron Plant was victorious in the Seniors' Ancients Trophy event.

Leominster also held an Air Ambulance Charity Day in memory of Stewart Thomson.

A total of 140 players took part in teams of four to compete in the stableford competition, with the best two scores counting.

The winning team consisted of David Stephens, Mark Lane, Pete Morris and Rob Jones with 94 points.

The best individual card for the ladies was Julie Powell with 32 points, while Graham Lloyd (45 points) was the top male.

More than £3,000 was raised on the day.
