HOLME Lacy and Ledbury Town Reserves are celebrating this week after winning their respective divisions in the Hereford Times Herefordshire Football League.

Woofferton withdrew from their game at Holme Lacy on Tuesday night, meaning that no team can now catch Lacy at the top of the Division One table.

Next season, the Herefordshire Football Association will be administering the league and Holme Lacy manager Chris Ferriday wants his side placed in the Premier Division.

"As far as I'm aware, we haven't had any communication, but I'm guessing the league will be structured on a similar basis," said Ferriday.

"I have a great set of players and they have been brilliant in terms of their dedication.

"We wanted to go up and see how we would do in the Premier Division and that was always our focus."

Holme Lacy complete their programme at home against Sinkums next Tuesday.

Sinkums hammered Wellington Colts 8-0 and are favourites to finish second.

Other scheduled matches in Division One were postponed this week, with home walkovers awarded.

The only other game that took place last Saturday was at Hinton Reserves, with the Hereford side beating Kingstone Harriers 3-0.

Two days previously, Hinton lost 4-1 to Holme Lacy.

Goals from Ryan Jones and Charlie Docherty saw Ledbury Town Reserves beat Kington Town Reserves 2-1 and ensure they are crowned Division Two champions and this week's team of the week.

Docherty was also on the mark in a 2-2 draw at Shobdon on Monday; Curtis Williams also netting for Ledbury.

Kington bounced back from their defeat last Saturday by beating Kingstone Rovers 4-1 on Tuesday night, while Holme Lacy Reserves hammered bottom club Burghill 13-2.

Peter Bufton scored five of Lacy's goals, with Joel Price also helping himself to four.

Other Division Two results this week were: Civil Service 5-3 Burghill, Kingstone Rovers 2-6 Holme Lacy Reserves, Shobdon 1-1 Weobley, Kingstone Rovers 3-5 Civil Service and Kington Town Reserves 5-0 Bartestree Reserves.

In the Premier Division, Fownhope beat Pegasus Reserves 3-1 on Tuesday night to jump above Ewyas Harold into third place.

Last Saturday, Harold overcame Ledbury Town 4-0, while Fownhope hammered Hinton 4-1.

Elsewhere, Orleton Colts beat Lads Club Reserves 4-2 and Wellington Reserves saw off Pegasus Reserves 3-2.
