ZAC Sirrell says he just wants to play football after enjoying a rich vein of form at Wellington.

The striker, who joined the villagers from Westfields earlier this season, was at Southern Football League Premier Division side Redditch United last season.

But Sirrell says he is happy at Wellington and has struck up a good partnership upfront with Josh Hunt.

"I really like it here and everyone has made me feel welcome," said Sirrell

"A couple of my mates are here and I just like playing football.

"It was good at Redditch, but with all the travelling and college, it was hard to fit everything in.

"I just want to come out and play football and I find Wellington a good club."

Sirrell added that he is enjoying playing with Hunt.

"He's one of my best mates, ever since we played at youth level, so it's good to get back with him," said Sirrell.

"We know how each other plays and he's getting a couple of goals and it's good to see him doing well."

Hunt scored twice against Wolverhampton Casuals last Saturday to take his tally to 16 goals in just 12 games.

"I'm in good form and just got to keep going at the moment," said Hunt.

"It's definitely a team effort though, if I didn't get the balls, then I wouldn't score as much.

"It's a great bunch of boys here and I thoroughly enjoy it."

Wellington came from 2-1 down to win the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division match 3-2.

But the game will be remembered for four red cards in the last five minutes.

A rash challenge by Casuals' Jay Holdcroft on Adam Newbury led to a number of players squaring up.

Wellington goalkeeper Cris Mancui even ran half the length of the field to get involved, which led to him being sent off.

Holdcroft was dismissed for the challenge, while fellow Casuals striker Mark Habbershaw also saw red for his part in the altercation.

The away side then found themselves down to eight men when Craig Radford was sent off for denying Hunt a clear goalscoring opportunity in stoppage time.

"I think it ruined the game to be fair," added Hunt.

"We played well in the first half, then came unstuck towards the end of it, but towards the end we started to get more possession and we created chances to score.

"On the day, three points is what we needed and we got it.

"But four red cards in a game shouldn't really happen."

Wolverhampton opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Daryl Westwood headed home Liam Hughes' cross.

But Wellington were level eight minutes later when Hunt nipped in to score.

Andy Price then headed over for the home side before Casuals were awarded a penalty, which Habbershaw converted.

Wellington were dangerous from set-pieces and saw a number of efforts scrambled away.

Their perseverance was awarded when Ben Thomas headed home Matt Williams' corner to make it 2-2 before Hunt tapped home another Williams cross 12 minutes from time.

Wellington go to Smethwick Rangers this weekend.

"I think it will be tough away at Smethwick, it always is, but hopefully we'll get another three points that pushes us on and hopefully we'll be challenging for the title come towards the end of the season," said Hunt.
