BROCKHAMPTON had a day to forget in Birmingham & District Premier Cricket League as they slumped to defeat at home to Knowle & Dorridge.

Having won the toss and elected to bat, the Herefordshire side were soon in trouble at 49-6.

Not even Chris Powell's swift 30, which contained six boundaries, could rescue the situation and Brockhampton were dismissed for 95 with William Mortram claiming 5-43.

In reply, Knowle were 42-2 but that was as good as it got for Brockhampton who suffered a seven wicket loss.

There was better news for Brockhampton's Sunday team, who secured a five-wicket win against Wormelow.

They were indebted to Alex Parket, who finished unbeaten on 90.

Dave Shuker also snapped up three wickets for Brockhampton as Wormelow were bowled out for 224.

In Division Two of the Birmingham & District League, Eastnor secured a winning draw in a low-scoring match against Brewood.

Fifteen-year-old Shameer Ahmed top scored with 41 for Eastnor, with Atiq Ur Rehman making 34 as they were dismissed for 154.

Bruce Thomason hit a flurry of boundaries at the top of the order for Brewood but once he was sent back to the pavilion by Raheel Lone for 25, the home side struggled and ended on 129-9.

In the Second XI Division Two South, Eastnor 2nd demolished Water Orton thanks largely to centuries from Faisal Khalid and Sharafat Hussain who were top scorers in Eastnor's 322-5 declared.

Water Orton were never in with a chance of successfully chasing down the required runs, particularly after Josh Emery had taken 4-43 as Water Orton were shot out for 141.
