NEW records were set as Hereford Fly Fishing Club went to Ellerdine Fishery in Shropshire for their first bank competition of the season, writes SAUL-COOKE-BLACK.
Dave Dawe caught his four fish bag limit in record time and finished with 15lb before then catching a further eight fish on a catch and release ticket topped with a fish estimated at over 10lb.
In second place was Rob Burcher with four fish weighing 14lb 10oz, including a huge rainbow trout of 9lb 15oz.
Meanwhile in the Docklow Open match final, Dave Grace, Hereford, won the event by beating the odds to come from a peg 26 on the match lake with 55lbs, to win the £1000 prize.
Mr Grace, a British Telecom engineer at Madley, beat two other Hereford anglers to win the event.
