A QUARTET of Hereford Cathedral School tennis players enjoyed a winning start in the first regional round of the National Schools Competition.
The Year 8 and under girls’ tennis team chalked up a convincing 5-1 win against Arden School, Solihull, to earn a tie against Warwick High.
Team members Lucy Austin, Eloise Lowson, Lily Matheson and Mia Price have been active and enthusiastic participants in the competition which sees each play both a singles and doubles match.
In the summer term they had wins at county level over The Chase and The Downs to go through to the next round to play Bromsgrove School.
The clash with Bromsgrove proved a close fought match and secured them a place representing Herefordshire and Worcestershire in the regional part of the competition.
