HALL Family Taekwon-do have returned from the Welsh Open Championships in Cardiff with a clutch of medals from a tournament which attracted entries from many international competitors.
Instructor and coach Luke Hall fought in a particularly tough category against many of the association's top fighters and secured a silver medal.
Junior Black Tag, Beth Hill, fought in a difficult category in her first international tournament and took a bronze medal while senior coloured belt Tomas Strapko also earned a bronze medal in his first international tournament.
Chris Royles and Nick Slane added to the awards on the day, earning a bronze medal and silver medal respectively.
Alex Winney, Lyndon Winney, Marcus Ashfield, Jason Winney, Dan Sneddon and Instructor and Coach Sarah Hall fought through many difficult rounds but missed out on medals this time. All the students received a diploma for their skill on the day.
Luke and Sarah Hall singled out seven-year-old Lyndon Winney for special praise.
"Lyndon has never before entered a competition and only started training this year," said the pair. "He bravely entered such a large tournament and despite falling short of a medal, showed the most genuine sportsmanship and enthusiasm that we have ever seen."
