THE chief executive officer of Grays Athletic, Joel Nathan, has been assessing the situation at Hereford United this week.

“Tommy Agombar is a personal friend and he asked me to come to Hereford United and have a look at the club,” said Nathan yesterday (Wednesday).

“I have been to Hereford United for a couple of days and my remit is to have a look at the club and to report back to Tommy.

“Tommy wants football to be played at the club next season and he didn’t know the full extent of the problems when he took over.”

Nathan, who is a Tottenham Hotspur supporter, said he understood the concerns of the Hereford United fans.

“I have been around the city and I know how much Hereford United means to the fans and there is a lot of anger being posted on the fans’ forums,” he said.

“The Hereford United official website will be up and running in the next couple of days.”

Nathan said he has been heavily involved with Grays, with whom Hereford United will play in a friendly at Edgar Street on July 19.

United will be facing the 1st Battalion The Rifles to raise money for Help for Heroes on July 5 and then hosting Cardiff City’s first-team in a friendly on July 12.
