City course will host big race day

First published in Sport

HEREFORD Racecourse will be staging point to point racing next month.

The postponed North Herefordshire Hunt meeting will now take place at the city course on Saturday, May 24.

Pony racing at 3pm will precede the first point-to-point race at 4pm and several races have been added to the original schedule.

There will be a combined members' race for those qualified with both the North and South Herefordshire Hunts.

"It will be the finale of the Welsh border season rather than the usual curtain-raiser," said point-to-point secretary Frank Morgan.

"The area awards will be presented there and we are hoping for a great atmosphere.
