Narrow defeat for Luctonians but Westfields win nine-goal thriller

LUCTONIANS were beaten 20-15 by National Two North promotion chasers Stourbridge.

But Hereford continued to keep up the pressure on the Midlands One West leaders by beating Market Bosworth 52-18 at Wyeside.

Ledbury’s hopes of promotion from Midlands Three West (South) are fading after a 41-7 reverse at Old Yardleians.

In Midlands Four West (North), Bromyard won 12-5 at St Leonards while Greyhound were beaten 29-3 at home by Clee Hill.

In Gloucester 2, Ross lost 16-0 at home to leaders Bredon Star.

There was a nine-goal thriller for Westfields with Aidan Thomas (2), Jamie Cuss, Craig Jones and Luke Griffiths scoring in a 5-4 win at Shepshed.

In the West Midlands League Premier Division, Pegasus Juniors’ title hope suffered a setback when they were beaten 2-0 at home by Shawbury United.

Wellington beat title-hopefuls Black Country Rangers 1-0 but Cradley Town beat Bromyard Town 2-1.

In Division One, Bartestree lost 2-0 at home to Stone Old Alleynians but Ledbury Town gained a welcome 4-1 win over Wolverhampton United while Lads Club beat Shenstone Pathfinders 3-1.
