Graham Powell is top Herefordshire Motor Club member

LONG-serving member Graham Powell collected Herefordshire Motor Club's award for overall best member at their annual presentation evening at the Three Counties Hotel.

Powell received the award from guest speaker Mike Nicholson, who gave an entertaining speech on his motorsport exploits as a professional rally co-driver, and club president Robert Andrews.

Caroline Wilks claimed second place in the best member award and also collected a trophy for furthering the name of HMC in motorsport while Jim Lewis, who organised the presntation evening, was in third place.

Trophies were presented to Sue Underwood for Best Lady and Pat Pugh for second Lady.

The best junior members were Caitlin Pugh and Lewis Mason, with Lewis also winning the Bengry Rally Championship for his performance on Welsh road rallies. The best new member was Adrian Jackson.

Best Austin/Rover driver: Robbie Hansford.

Best Vauxhall driver: Dan Evans.

Best Peugeot driver: Adrian Griffiths.

Best four-wheel car driver: Mike Nobles.

Paul Watkins Memorial award: Karen Phelps.

Hardluck trophy: Dean Davies.

Best performance on club events: Adrian Gwynne.

Best marshal: Gerald Watkins.

Best driver on club organised events: Phil Martin.

Karting: Tal England.

Ten-pin bowling challenge: Mike Pugh.

Karting and bowling: Adam Wilks, Kevin Pugh, Darren Underwood.

Snowman autotest: Liam Rollings.

Merit awards: Len Evans, Graham Powell, Adam Wilks, Chris Powell and Lee Hackett.

Navigational Scatter Series: Ian Mason and Matt Jones.

A raffle on the night raised £300 for the County Air Ambulance.
