Hereford Rowing Club's juniors finished the fastest junior crew for the second straight Head of the Taff in Cardiff.
The J16 coxed quad of Jacob Mileson, Sam Towle, James Scott and Will Fraser finished the 2.5 kilometre course 25 seconds ahead of their nearest challenger to win the junior event outright, while junior Zach Hart coxed Hereford’s senior ladies’ IM3 eight to victory in both divisions - winning the IM3 event in the morning and beating Cardiff Uni's Senior women's eight to be the fastest women's crew of the afternoon division.
In the afternoon division, Mileson and Fraser teamed up in the J16 double scull to take victory while Ed Rees finished so far ahead of his J18 singles opposition that at first the organisers failed to notice and mistakenly awarded his victory to the second placed sculler – it was only when Rees and his coach pointed out that he had overtaken the entire field that the mistake was corrected.
The winning women's IM3 8 consisted of Kay Mileson (stroke), Sarah Simpson, Linda Willimont, Paula Urry, Adele Llewelyn, Caroline Fowler Wright, Sharon Pullen and Lauren Williams (bow). The squad, including Kate Hatch and Yvette Rees, are now preparing for the Head of the Trent and London's prestigious Tideway event in March.
