THERE were mixed fortunes for the county’s leading rugby sides on a day dominated by the weather.
In National Two North, Luctonians suffered a narrow victory by just three points when they went down by 18-15 at Harrogate.
In Midlands One West, Hereford had greater cause to enjoy their day when they travelled to Walsall and returned with a 35-18 victory.
All of the other sides saw their matches rained off and it was a similarly bleak picture in the football fixtures.
Only one match beat the weather and that was at Fownhope where the village club’s reserve team progressed to the next stage of the HFA Junior Cup by beating Wellington Colts 1-0.
