HEREFORDSHIRE Football Association have recruited two recent graduates to assist them through the summer period.

Nick Frith and Sarah Phipps join Matt Cox, who has been with the county’s governing body for the past two months.

“The chance to try and improve the opportunities people have in the local area to be involved in the game is fantastic,” said Nick, a sports science graduate from the University of Birmingham.

“The opportunity to work at Herefordshire FA is an exciting prospect and a brilliant place to start my career.”

Sarah is a sports graduate of Cardiff Metropolitan University, where she studied sport and exercise science.

“Throughout my university education, vast amounts of my work focused on football, including my dissertation which assessed ‘the influence of competition stress and emotions on female football players during a penalty kick’,” she said.

Sarah plays for Bartestree Harriers and has followed Hereford United home and away for more than 12 years.

“I am delighted with the recent recruits that will continue to support the delivery of the FA National Game Strategy in Herefordshire,” said the HFA football strategy manager Roger Goodwin.
