A YOUNG Herefordshire golfer will be teeing off on the west coast of the United States of America in search of a world title later this year.

Ten-year-old Morgan Radziejowski has qualified to take part in the Calloway World Junior Championship in San Diego, California in July.

Around 10-15 players from this country, as well as competitors from China, Thailand and the host country, will be taking part.

“Morgan qualified at a tournament in Nottinghamshire,” said dad Steve. “He shot a six-over-par score over the 18 holes but came in one under on the back nine.”

Morgan, like his dad, who played football for a number of clubs including Ewyas Harold and Westfields, is a keen footballer and plays at Bartestree.

But it seems as if golf is where he is likely to make a mark.

He plays off 22 and is a member at the Herefordshire and Burghill Valley clubs. Morgan, who has been playing golf since he was six, has won four or his last five tournaments against adult opponents.

He is heading for Scotland later this month to take part in the European Junior Championships before starting preparations for his trip across the Atlantic.

“We would like to thank Blue Line Taxis, Appliance World, Hereford Forklift Trucks and PR Cooling Services for their help in getting Morgan to San Diego,” added Steve.
