Bristol Rovers 1 Hereford United 2 HEREFORD'S young Bulls wasted no time in gaining a revenge win following their FA Youth Cup exit at the hands of the Gasheads when they notched their first win of the season in the Puma Youth Alliance Cup.

Hereford came under early pressure playing against a strong wind and went behind in the 11th minute from one of seven corners that they conceded in the first 20 minutes.

United forced their way back into the game and came close to equalising when Scott Walker's deflected header from a Craig Jones cross drew a fine save from the home goalkeeper.

Jones had to leave the field on the half-hour with a broken nose but Hereford were not thrown out of their stride and, with the wind behind them in the second period, went on to dominate play.

Darren Andrews headed wide from a Rob Orme cross on the hour but the young Bulls drew level five minutes later when Kieran Davies' header played in Bobby Terrett to lift a shot over the advancing keeper.

Ten minutes from time, substitute Tom Harding was brought down in the area and Adam Bendall stepped up to win the tie from the penalty spot.
