Ledbury Town 3 Shawbury United 2 A HAT-trick from Lee Hooper backed up by a stubborn defence, plus the odd bit of luck, gave Ledbury the points at New Street.
Town are now off the bottom of the West Midlands League Premier Division after taking seven points from their last three games.
Ashley Jones cleared off his own line to prevent Shawbury taking the lead minutes before the home side broke the deadlock.
Hooper volleyed home when Nicky Welch's cross was partially cleared.
Both sides scored from penalties given for handball to leave the half-time score 2-1. Hooper stroked his kick wide of the keeper to put Ledbury two up, and then Steve Giles sent Alex Goode the wrong way just before the break.
Shawbury found themselves 3-1 down when Hooper stabbed the ball home after keeper Martin Poole could only palm away a fierce drive from substitute Nick Stockley.
Carl Evans rekindled the visitors hopes with a goal, but Ledbury withstood a tense last 12 minutes.
