A KINGTON couple with a sweet tooth wowed judges at the prestigious Cake International Show in Birmingham
Agnieszka Partyka and Grzegorz Grabowski took not just one, but three awards in different categories after impressing the judges with their cookies and novelty cakes.
Agnieszka won gold in “Decorated cookies for Santa”, while in the “Carved Novelty Cakes” category Agnieszka won silver and Grzegorz took bronze.
The awards were achieved as a result of hard work, commitment, a great eye for detail and of course a sweet tooth.
Agnieszka was inspired to making carved cakes after visiting the Cake International Show in Birmingham four years ago.
She started baking traditional cakes in early childhood and for many years her family and friends enjoyed the cakes made especially for them on their special day.
Agnieszka’s passion for baking brought her many other awards, like Lakeland’s Award, Vanilla Valley’s Cake of the Month to name but a few.
Four years later Agnieszka and Grzegorz’s dream came true and their cakes caught the eyes of the judges at the Cake International Show in Birmingham.
The idea of “Decorated cookies for Santa” came naturally to Agnieszka as she immediately thought about the well known carol ’12 Days of Christmas’ and while singing this carol she baked and decorated one cookie a day.
The cookies are in the shape of Victorian toys and kept in a very special hand-made box.
