A MUSICAL theatre company has staged a remarkable turnaround after its plea for male actors proved fruitful.

Hereford Musical Theatre Company was so short of men to play dancers in its forthcoming production of the popular musical Carousel that it put an appeal in the Hereford Times.

The positive response surprised the company’s leading lights and means an extra three male dancers can take their place on stage when the show kicks off its five-day stint in the city in November.

Choreographer Rebecca White said: “I’m thrilled to now have three new male dancers in Ollie Grove, Jack Wright and Russ Whistance to add to our already fantastic chorus.

“It means that our lovely line up of female dancers now all have partners.”

The show takes place at The Courtyard between November 2 and 6.
