VISITORS to the 2015 Shobdon Food and Flying Festival could be left in a spin after organisers added aerobatics to the show’s schedule.

Confirmed for both days of the June event is former Royal Marine-turned-commercial pilot, Ben Lovering, who will be performing a daring display in the skies over Shobdon in his home-built Christen Eagle biplane.

There will also be fly-pasts by classic planes, parachute displays by the Armed Forces Jump4Heroes team as well as simulators and a range of aircraft that visitors can get up close to on the ground.

Visitors will also be able to take to the skies themselves with trial flights available through Herefordshire Aero Club and Tiger Helicopters.

There will also be classic aircraft, microlights and ultralights, helicopters, cockpit tours, a state of the art gliding simulator and model helicopter displays.

Organiser, Marcus Woof, from Herefordshire Aero Club, said: "This is the third year of the joint Food and Flying Festival and things are really starting to take off.

"Last year we had over 70 visiting planes from all around the country with people flying in to spend time with us. This year we have lots more attractions for them to see and experience. Many have already booked their landing slots."

Foodies will also be kept busy throughout the weekend with a celebration of the finest Herefordshire cuisine.

Money raised this year will be split between Herefordshire Aero Club and local good causes.

Shobdon Food and Flying Festival takes place at Shobdon Airfield on June 27 and 28.
